Yard Sail references the traditional yard sale, where personal, sentimental or utilitarian objects are displayed in the intimate atmosphere of someone’s yard. It is an invitation to share in the preserved detritus of a family’s history. The bed sheets remind of these: moment’s from people’s lives, stretched and strung together, like sails, transcending the present and hovering in a dream- state, or seascape, of memory and future.
